The Nike Dunk Low ‘Veneer’ Sneaker Is Rereleasing for Only the Second Time Since 2001

The Nike Dunk Low “Veneer” will soon follow the “Plum” variant in getting only its second-ever rerelease since its original launch in 2001.

Together with a “Ceramic” colorway, the three sneakers formed a rare and wildly heralded “Ugly Duckling” pack released under the CO.JP line. Short for “Concept Japan,” CO.JP releases helped inform the later introduction of Nike SB Dunks and has proven informative for sneaker culture as a whole. All three were brought back for the first time in 2020 and 2021 and, given the pattern currently unfolding, the “Ceramic” should also be on the way back again soon.

Just as it did in 2020, the Dunk Low “Veneer” maintains its original form. Just as it did with a suede upper featuring brown underlays, green overlays and a purple Swoosh and mustache. The sockliner adds to the color-blocking in chartreuse, while a white midsole sits above a purple outsole.

Because CO.JP releases were exclusive to Japan, the original “Ugly Duckling” pack have enjoyed a run as some of the most collectible Dunks ever made. Two rereleases in four years has suddenly made the shoe more accessible than sneakerheads would have previously imagined possible.

The Nike Dunk Low “Veneer” will release April 11 through the Snkrs app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $115.
