Late-Night Hosts Team Up for Exciting New Project

Five hosts of late-night TV have assembled to create a new limited podcast series. After months off the air due to the WGA writers' strike, Stephen Colbert, Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, Seth Meyers and John Oliver are hitting the airwaves with Strike Force Five!

According to Spotify, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Tonight Show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver hosts had an idea in May "to meet every week to discuss the complexities behind the ongoing Hollywood strikes" and "what ensued was a series of hilarious and compelling conversations."

Fans will have the chance to listen to the conversations on the podcast, which launched on Aug. 30. Colbert, Fallon, Kimmel, Meyers and Oliver will all serve as a rotating moderator on the show.

"The hosts bring their unique insights, opinions, and humor to the show as they navigate the Hollywood strikes and beyond," Spotify teased in a press release.

Strike Force Five, supported by Mint Mobile and Diageo, debuted on Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Who will benefit from the late-night hosts' podcast?

Proceeds from the Strike Force Five podcast will go to out-of-work staff from Colbert, Fallon, Kimmel, Meyers and Oliver's shows. Their respective talk shows have been on hiatus since the WGA went on strike in early May.

Ahead of the strike, Meyers said (via PEOPLE), "I love writing. I love writing for TV. I love writing this show. I love that we get to come in with an idea for what we want to do every day and we get to work on it all afternoon and then I have the pleasure of coming out here. No one is entitled to a job in show business."

He added, "But for those people who have a job, they are entitled to fair compensation. They are entitled to make a living. I think it's a very reasonable demand that's being set out by the guild. And I support those demands."
