Based on author Matthew Quirk’s novel of the same name, The Night Agent follows vigilant FBI agent Peter Sutherland (Gabriel Basso) who, after answering a mysterious phone call, is embroiled in a conspiracy that goes right to to the top.

So, when can we expect The Night Agent season 2?

The good news is Netflix has commissioned ten episodes for The Night Agent season 2, and the news came just days after the first episode premiered on March 23, 2023.

It might have something to do with the series debuting at #1 on the English TV list and gracing the top 10 list in 93 countries. But was it good enough to make our 8 best Netflix shows that launched in 2023?

While The Night Agent season 2 release date hasn’t been confirmed, we can expect to see it late 2024/early 2025.

Creator and showrunner Shawn Ryan said in a statement: “We couldn't be any prouder or more excited to get cracking on Season 2 to share the further adventures of Night Action with our newfound fans."

Ryan even teased what’s coming next, which follows the spoiler warning below.

At the end of the final episode, Peter gets on a plane and jets off for his next job. Where does that leave his romance with Rose?

“That’s one of the big questions we’d love to answer in Season 2,” says Ryan. “What does Peter getting on this plane and going somewhere (presumably overseas to enter into some new wild adventure) mean, with Rose going back to California to try to pursue her Silicon Valley dreams again? We certainly have some initial ideas.”

Ryan also commented on returning characters, suggesting the reappearnece of season 1 antagonists. “We liked the idea that this wasn’t so clean,” says Ryan on Wick’s escape. “That there is one person who, because of his resources and everything, is able to slink away. Maybe we’ll deal with him again in some way.”
