Nicole Kidman Wore an Evening-Ready Iteration of the Crop Top

Contrary to popular opinion, crop tops can be elegant. Just look at Nicole Kidman, who wore an evening-ready version to Giorgio Armani's pre-Oscar party last night, in honor of her nomination for Best Actress.

For the event, Nicole ditched the standard cocktail dress, and instead, opted for an ab-revealing shirt that was plunging, sequined, slightly sheer, and tastefully showed off her midsection. The abbreviated, glitzy top was from Armani, as was her black tuxedo jacket that hung from one shoulder and tailored trousers. And rather than stilettos, Kidman surprised again, wearing pointed-toe flats.

She accessorized with a diamond wristwatch and dangling earrings. Nicole's signature strawberry blonde hair was worn down in loose waves, and for an additional pop of color, she painted her nails fire-engine red.

Kidman is up for the Best Actress honor at tonight's Academy Awards for her role as Lucille Ball in the biopic Being the Ricardos. The film, directed by Aaron Sorkin, follows real-life Hollywood power couple Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz (Javier Bardem) — who starred in the iconic 1950s sitcom together, I Love Lucy – through their personal and professional struggles.
