From Town & Country

Given the massive success of Big Little Lies for HBO, it only makes sense that the network would try to recreate the magic. Nicole Kidman is collaborating with a few members of the Big Little Lies team on a new project called The Undoing which is set to premiere on October 25. Here's what we know so far.

The series will be based on You Should Have Known, a book by Jean Hanff Korelitz.

Kidman will play Grace Reinhart Sachs, a New York City therapist and writer. According to the book's description, Grace is "living the only life she ever wanted for herself" with her young son Henry, who attends an "elite" private school and her husband, but right before she publishes her self-help book, also titled You Should Have Known, "a chasm opens in her own life: a violent death, a missing husband, and, in the place of a man Grace thought she knew, only an ongoing chain of terrible revelations."

Hugh Grant is set to co-star.

In November, Deadline reported that Grant had been cast in new series. He will play Kidman's character's "devoted husband."

The first trailer is already here.

David E. Kelley will adapt the script.

Kelley served as the writer and creator of Big Little Lies season one. “We’re thrilled to continue our creative relationships with both Nicole and David,” Casey Bloys, president of HBO programming said, according to Deadline, “and can’t wait to bring this show to life.”

Kelley says he "loves" the book. “A character driven psychological thriller, I’m excited about the adaptation and thrilled to be able to do it with Nicole and HBO.”

Kidman will executive produce the show with Per Saari and Bruna Papandrea.

Papandrea and Saari are both Big Little Lies alums, having produced that series as well.
