Lately, it feels like tween and teen girls are getting a lot of flack. From folks making fun of their Stanleys to splurges at Sephora and their immaculate skincare routines. But for Nicole Kidman, she just loves having teens as evidenced in her recent interview with PEOPLE.

Kidman shares two daughters, Sunday, 15, and Faith, 13, with her husband Keith Urban. She told PEOPLE that while they do a lot of traveling as a family, her girls love being home where all their friends come to hang out. Kidman said she also enjoys just being a “citizen who is in the world”—not about her work, not about who she is—and her children love that, too, when she does that. And she really loves being with her daughters in this capacity, and in particular when her girls and all of their friends are in their home.

“I love teenage girls,” Kidman told the publication. “I just find them exquisite. I marvel at that age group and what they’re dealing with, but also their ability to handle so much.”

And in typical tween/teen fashion, her daughter loved the show Big Little Lies, and in the interview, Kidman even credited her daughter Sunday for Big Little Lies potentially getting a third season.

“My daughter is the one who watched both of the series and went, ‘Okay, there’s just no question, there has to be a third,’” explained Kidman, noting that her daughter even gave her notes on character development. “She’s like, ‘Celeste, she’s not coping in the second one, what is she doing? I could kind of see the point of view of Mary Louise.'”

Her obsession tracks, as Kidman said in an article for Closer Weekly, that she had “already expressed excitement about being involved in show business in the future.”
In fact, Kidman said in another article for Time 100 in 2018, “I’m raising a little girl that’s showing an interest in directing right now. I want her to have a path for that.” And it looks like she’s on the right track and Kidman has a lot to be proud of.
