Nicola Coughlan Just Dropped a Major “Bridgerton” Season 3 Teaser

Dearest readers, while we recently watched the swoon-worthy love story of Lord Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma unfold in London’s latest social season (aka Bridgerton season two), we’re of course already restless to see the next Regency romance emerge. Lucky for us, one certain member of the Ton just hinted at what’s in store.
On Tuesday, May 24, Nicola Coughlan — who stars as Penelope Featherington in the Netflix series — uploaded an image of a schedule card on her Instagram Story. The card read “Fitting With: Penelope,” which means that Bridgerton season three is not far from filming (!!!). If that weren’t enough to excite fans near and far, Nicola wrote underneath the card, “You.Are.Going.To.Lose.Your.Mind.”
ICYMI, season three of Bridgerton will tell Penelope and Colin Bridgerton’s story. The plot deviates from the order of the book series by Julia Quinn — while seasons one and two pulled inspiration from the first and second books in Quinn’s series, season three jumps to the storyline of the fourth book, Romancing Mister Bridgerton.
Nicola shared the news on Instagram on May 16. “Like Lady Whistledown I’ve been keeping quite a big secret for quite a long time… but I can finally tell you that @bridgertonnetflix Season Three is Colin and Penelope’s Story ❤️,” she wrote.
These aren’t the first clues Nicola has dropped about the upcoming season. During an interview with E! News on May 18, the actress mentioned a new face in the Ton. “I've heard there's a new man entering into the Ton, as we call it… Into London society,” she shared. Hmmmm. She also confirmed to the outlet that season three is already in production. “We've already started because it takes such a long time. They make every single costume from scratch, including for all the supporting artists,” she said. “I saw a picture of [Luke Newton, who plays Colin] from a fitting today and they've taken him from boyband to leading man in a major way.”
We. Cannot. Wait.
