It’s the biggest Internet tea of 2024 and it’s not even February yet. Nicki Minaj and Megan Thee Stallion’s songs are getting traction after the latter dropped the biggest diss track ever.

Nicki and Megan were friendly years ago as they collaborated for one of Megan’s breakout hits, “Hot Girl Summer.” However, their relationship turned sour as Megan started to do songs with Nicki’s rivals and when Nicki came out about alleged stories that included the “Cobra” rapper.

Megan teased her new song “Hiss” in a video days before its release. “I just wanna kick this s–t off by saying, ‘F–k y’all!” she exclaims in the clip. “I ain’t gotta clear my name on a motherf–kin’ thang. Every time I get mentioned, one of y’all b—h a– n—as get 24 hours of attention. I’m finna get this s–t off my chest and lay it to rest, let’s go!”

Even though she didn’t attach names to her song, Nicki clapped back towards the “Savage” rapper in different forms and both Megan’s Hotties and Nicki’s Barbz are up in arms on social media.

Nicki Minaj released the full version of “Big Foot” on streaming services on January 29, 2024. After the song was released, Nicki Minaj immediately went on an Instagram Live where she reacted to the line by directing a diss towards Megan.

“Bad b—h she like six foot, I call her Big Foot/ The bitch fell off, I said get up on your good foot,” she rapped. Nicki also said during the broadcast: “You have three Grammys and you have to learn how to rap on the beat and be comfortable in the music.” As to Megan’s reaction, she posted a photo of herself laughing on her Instagram story.

Nicki didn’t stop there. In a 3,100-character post on X, Nicki seemingly implied that the rapper lied about being shot by Tory Lanez and referenced Megan’s mother, who died of a brain tumor in 2019. “#GagCity does not condone “bullying,” she started out the post.

“Horrible ACTOR that can’t cry on cue don’t try to act bookie it’s a chop,” Nicki wrote on the site. “Pathological & manipulative liar.”

She also accused Megan of winning “fraudulent awards,” referencing her Grammy wins since Megan has three while Minaj has none. The Pink Friday 2 rapper also described the Houston rapper as a “flop” repeatedly throughout the post.

January 2024: Megan Thee Stallion Releases “Hiss”

“Hiss” by Megan Thee Stallion is a straight diss track to all her haters out there. She even says it bluntly in the first couple of lines. However, she is also very specific to the people who use her for clout.

“I feel like Mariah Carey (Mariah Carey), got these n—s so obsessed (Damn) / My pussy so famous, might get managed by Kris Jenner next (Mwah),” she raps ferociously in the first verse, referring to Kardashian momager Kris Jenner.

One line that got the public’s attention is the line, “These hoes don’t be mad at Megan, these hoes mad at Megan’s Law.” The line refers to Megan’s law which makes it necessary for law enforcement to share information about registered sex offenders with the public. It could be interpreted that the line was directed towards Nicki Minaj‘s husband, Kenneth Petty, who is a convicted sex offender. Though Megan didn’t name any names.

March 2023: Nicki Minaj releases “Red Ruby Da Sleeze”

In March 2023, Nicki Minaj released “Red Ruby Da Sleeze” which includes the lines “But I don’t fuck with horses since Christopher Reeves.” The line is a supposed jab to Megan’s stage name in reference to “Thee Stallion.”

She also rapped, “Dorito bitches mad that they not chose,” which might be a reference to Megan’s collaborations with Flamin’ Hot Cheetos and her song that she made for it called “Flamin’ Hot.” The most obvious jab towards Megan would be “That .40 cal a make ’em dance like a go-go.” In 2020, Megan was injured when she was shot by her then-boyfriend Tory Lanez while he was reportedly shouting, “Dance, bitch!”

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, was later arrested on a charge of carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle. He pleaded not guilty. Three years after the incident, Lanez was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the shooting

September 2020: Nicki Minaj Tells A Story Allegedly Involving Megan

Fans noticed that tensions arose when Nicki unfollowed Megan on Instagram at the end of 2020. Nicki recalled a story on Queen Radio in 2020 where a well-known rapper (allegedly Megan) was telling her to drink to stop her pregnancy. “Imagine telling someone you didn’t want to drink because you were, at the time, possibly pregnant. Because you were actively having a baby,” she said. “Imagine if that person said, ‘Oh girl, you can go to the clinic.’“

Nicki continued, “Imagine posting photos that you are pregnant and the person doesn’t even like it or say congratulations. But then when you post that Beyoncé sent you flowers congratulating you, the person then tried to send you flowers thinking that, ‘Oh, I can use this opportunity,’ as she does everyone else. ‘She’ll post the flowers.’ I didn’t even let them s— in muthaf—in’ house.”

In a cryptic alleged response to the story, Megan posted on X (formerly Twitter), “LIAR.”

August 2020: Megan Thee Stallion Collabs with Cardi B on “WAP”

In August 2020, Megan The Stallion released “WAP” with Cardi B, who is one of Minaj’s rivals in the business. The song peaked at No. 1 at the Billboard Charts for several weeks. It’s presumed that Nicki and Megan’s relationship turned sour because of the collab.

August 2019: Megan Thee Stallion releases “Hot Girl Summer” with Nicki Minaj

In July 2019, Nicki and Megan did an Instagram live together. “We are gagging right now, we are dead!” the “Body” rapper declared when she joined the broadcast. “B****, we love you! Since 2008, when I was in eighth grade, and I could listen to you.”

Minaj replied, “Congratulations on you doing your thing, and rapping and writing, and going to school.”

Suspicion grew that the two have collaborated and it actually came to fruition. Megan Thee Stallion released “Hot Girl Summer” featuring Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla Sign.

Megan described the empowerment message of the song to The Root in an interview, “It’s just basically about women — and men — just being unapologetically them, just having a good-ass time, hyping up your friends, doing you, not giving a damn about what nobody got to say about it. You definitely have to be a person that can be the life of the party, and, y’know, just a bad bitch.”
