Nicki Minaj Calls Out YouTube for Age-Restricting Her Music Video

The rapper just released the video for "Likkle Miss Remix."
While Nicki Minaj should simply be celebrating the release of the music video for "Likkle Miss Remix," a track she made with Skeng, she spent the day dealing with YouTube's decision to age-restrict the video.
Earlier today, Minaj shared an image on social media of the message YouTube sent her.
"We have reviewed your content and determined that it may not be suitable for children under the age of 18, per our Community Guidelines. As a result, we've age-restricted the following content: Video: Nicki Minaj - Likkle Miss Remix (with Skeng) [Official Music Video]."
The message explained that because the video has been age-restricted, "it will not be visible to users who are logged out, are under 18 years of age, or have Restricted Mode enabled."
Many fans shared their outrage in the comments, with some pointing to other music videos with similar levels of explicitness that were not age-restricted.
"But y’all let WAP stay up ??," one fan questioned, referencing Cardi B's song, while others mentioned Minaj's other video, "Anaconda," which wasn't restricted either.
Although it's since been deleted, Minaj also posted this to Instagram, writing in the caption, "This was done to stop us from getting a lot of views in the first 24 hours," pointing out that the video was released yesterday and the restriction occurred this morning.
The rapper then wrote, "The DUDS at my label allow ppl to use my videos all the time to promote weak s**t but said we can't buy promo for my videos."
Sometime later, YouTube removed the restriction, but Minaj highlighted how this doesn't give her back the time lost that would've counted towards the views in the first 24 hours.
Minaj retweeted an announcement about the restriction removal, adding, "F*** THEM DUDS. THEY CANT [sic] GIVE US BACK OUR FIRST 24 HOURS CAN THEY?!?!!! SO MISSION ACCOMPLISHED."
While it's still unclear why the video for "Likkle Miss Remix" was age-restricted by YouTube when similar videos are not, Minaj's fans are happy that they can now watch the new music video without any limitations.
