  • Nick Jonas just spilled on the real reason why the Jonas Brothers broke up.

  • He also shared that he was worried his brothers would never talk to him again after he broke up the band.

It's only been three full months since the Jonas Brother ~officially~ reunited, but those three months have been FULL of some pretty A+ content, like their "Sucker" music video, which is basically an homage to Priyanka Chopra, Sophie Turner, and Danielle Jonas, as well as Sophie and Joe Jonas' Las Vegas wedding, complete with an Elvis imitator.

However, let's look back at a darker time, when the JoBros were broken up as a band. While doing promo for their upcoming album/tour, Joe, Kevin, and Nick sat down with CBS Sunday Morning to talk about why they broke up in 2013. And as Jonas Brothers fans likely already know, it was all because Nick didn't want to be in the band any longer.

Nick talks about why he wanted to break away from his brothers, saying, "to call it 'creative differences' is almost too simple. I think a lot of people lost the appetite for what we were putting into the world. So, you know, we were putting up shows that weren't selling. We were making music that I don't think we were all super-proud of, and it wasn't connecting. And on top of that, the root of all these real issues was that our relationship was becoming strained. And so, I had a very tough conversation with them where I laid it out for them: I said, 'You know, I feel like the Jonas Brothers should be no more and we should go on individual journeys.' Didn't go so well!"

Nick was really worried that the end of the band could also mean the end of his relationship with his brothers. He says, "I feared that, you know, they would never speak to me again, for real. And it took a couple of months of tricky conversations and navigating all that for us to be able to reconnect just as family again."

And it seems like Joe was super pissed at Nick about it! He says, “I felt betrayed, I felt lied to, I felt angry, numb. What hurt the most was that it came from Nick because he is my best friend...I thought that me, Kevin and Nick were going to do this forever, and that it was us against the world."

Obviously, six years later the band reunited and all is good in the world, but yikes, sounds like that was a tough situation!
