Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra Basically Recreated "Shallow" from "A Star Is Born"
Fans of the Jonas Brothers are eagerly awaiting a possible reunion of the band, but one member of the group has provided us with some new solo music. With the 2019 Oscars arriving on Sunday, Nick took some time to celebrate, and honored A Star Is Born with a special Instagram post.
The aspiring Batman shared a video with followers that had him doing a take on "Shallow," the film's featured Oscar-nominated single. Using only a guitar, Nick introduced the video on Instagram with a caption, writing, "In honor of Oscar weekend... such a beautiful song." He also appeared to dedicate the performance to Priyanka Chopra, tagging her Instagram handle below his caption.
Nick's acoustic performance was far less sequin-filled and memeworthy than Lady Gaga's recent rendition at the 2019 Grammys, but it still left many fans reeling from unexpected emotions. The singer's Instagram post has been flooded with crying face emojis and hearts, with one follower declaring that Nick has "the voice of an angel."
Other fans on Twitter have also responded positively to the performance, referring to it as a blessing, and insisting that "everyone needs to watch."
The track, which appears in the Oscar-nominated film starring Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper, has quickly become a favorite among fans. Before her recent performance at the Grammys, Lady Gaga debuted the song live with her costar during a February performance at her Las Vegas residency. The two are expected to perform the song again during Sunday's Oscar ceremony. And despite now having some practice together, Bradley previously revealed in an interview with E! News that he's "terrified" to take the Oscars stage. Luckily, he'll have Mother Monster right by his side.
