Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra's Met Gala 2019 Appearance Reminded Everyone Where Their Love Story Began
Newlyweds Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra took their relationship full circle at the 2019 Met Gala. The duo hit the red carpet at the much-anticipated ball on May 6, but the event holds more significance for the couple than just another black-tie party. It’s actually where their love story really took off!
Nick and Priyanka, who served as co-chairs at the 2019 event, dressed to the nines; Nick wore a white suit, while Priyanka dressed in a gown with matching Rihanna-esque crown. The theme of this year’s gala was “Notes on Camp,” based on a famous essay by writer and cultural critic Susan Sontag, and gave celebrities and fashion luminaries the chance to go big and go all out.
The Met Gala holds a special place in Nickyanka lore. In 2017, the pair attended the gala as guests of Ralph Lauren, and they’d been texting each other all the while. After the party, Nick visited her apartment, and his brother Joe told Vogue that Nick returned from Priyanka’s apartment looking like a “little puppy dog.” Ah, the magic of romance!
Relationship rumors started to swirl about them, and they started dating not long after, eventually getting married in December of 2018.
It appears that we’re not the only ones looking back at Met Galas past. Priyanka has been posting old pics from the gala, including one of herself and Nick posing at the fateful 2017 event where they fell in love. She captioned her Instagram Story photo of the 2017 Met Gala, "The story I'll definitely tell our future kids...how I MET your father."
Little did we know their red carpet appearance back in 2017 would kick off one of the most epic love stories in recent celeb history. We can’t wait to see what they do next year!
