Niall Horan is the One Direction Alum You Can Actually Dress Like

By Megan Gustashaw.

One Direction went on hiatus early in 2016 so that everyone in the band could do their own thing. Today, just about a year and a half later, we're really starting to see what each member is made of musically and also stylistically. Zayn Malik, who actually left the group in 2015, has carved out a space in R&B and now wears goth duster coats, combat boots, and skinny suits instead of adorable bow-ties. Harry Styles, meanwhile, just dropped a solo album with all kinds of Mick Jagger flavor. Ditto on his wardrobe, which is currently dominated by silky bell-bottom pants and flashy patterned suits.

And then there's Niall Horan, whose Fleetwood Max and Eagles-inspired solo album is due to drop later this year (we're hoping it's better than his first single). Like the bands that inspire him as a musician, Horan's personal style is pretty much universally appealing. It's trucker jackets, straight-leg jeans, and wide-brim hats. The kind of clothing that won't get the fashion world all breathless, but sort of defines what decent taste looks like in 2017.

We'll still cover what Malik and Styles wear (and do with their hair) tirelessly because it's relevant to what's happening in menswear and downright interesting to look at. Sometimes it's even hard to make sense of. But Niall Horan deserves some credit for looking empirically great without putting on such a show. If you're a Fleetwood Mac kind of guy, cop his moves and enjoy the rest from a distance.
