Kelly Stafford, the wife of LA Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, is setting the record straight, attempting to squash any rumors that she had been diagnosed with cancer.

In a post that featured the text "I DO NOT HAVE CANCER," Kelly explained that the recent reports she had a recent "cancer scare" were blown out of proportion and "infuriated" her.

"There is a bunch circulating right now and want to reiterate that I DO NOT HAVE CANCER," Kelly began in the caption of her Monday, July 24, Instagram post. "If journalists actually took time to check facts these days, they would know this."

Days prior, the former Georgia Bulldogs cheerleader had opened up about feeling "very sick" during her podcast The Morning After with Kelly Stafford, and said she had tests done and doctors "found things" on her thyroid. "We don’t think it’s anything, so it’s not a big deal but it scared the (bleep) out of me," she said.

During the episode, she also described having an "awful" pain in her back and stomach that made her think, "I might have (bleeping) cancer," but later on in the podcast she clarified that there was "no cancer or anything like that."

Unfortunately, her statements were still misconstrued.

"I’m infuriated," Kelly continued in the caption. "Most the time I wouldn’t care what people wrote because it didn’t matter. THIS MATTERS. This matters because it takes away from the people who are fighting this horrible disease...fighting to live another day, fighting to be there with the ones they love, fighting 24/7. So PLEASE send your prayers to them."

Kelly went on, to "reiterate it again" that she does "not have cancer and I have never had cancer."

She concluded, "I’m so sorry again for the ones who are fighting. 🙏 And to you so called journalists out there, be better. And stop using me as click bait because nfl camp is starting back 🙄."

In 2019, Kelly had a 12-hour surgery to remove a brain tumor after being diagnosed with acoustic neuroma, a noncancerous tumor on the main nerve leading from the inner ear to the brain.
