NFL Player Andrew Luck on His Wedding: “It Was the Best Day of My Life”
Andrew Luck knows he’s a lucky man. The Indianapolis Colts quarterback touched on his secret wedding to longtime girlfriend Nicole Pechanec this week while reporting to offseason with the team.
Luck and Pechanec married in Prague, where her family is based, at the end of March. The pair kept their nuptials a secret from the public without having shared any images from the ceremony. “It was awesome,” Luck told the IndyStar. “It was the best day of my life, and probably the best offseason I’ve ever had.”
While it’s now been a few weeks, Luck says his relationship with Pechanec is largely the same. “It’s great,” he added. “We’ve been together for a decade, so not much has changed besides the ring on the finger.”
Plus, he added, “and she’s got great insurance now.”
Pechanec and Luck both met while attending Stanford. She was a competitive gymnast on the team, and both were architectural design majors. Not much is known about the couple’s romance other than how she supported him through a shoulder injury during the 2017 season.
“Honestly, though, I wouldn’t have gotten through it if not for Nicole,” Luck recalled in the John Feinstein-authored book Quarterback. “It isn’t just that she was willing to do anything she could to help me. It’s that she’s tough. She knows what training is like, what it’s like to feel pain, and what it’s like to have to work really hard. There’s no way I get through those two months without her.”
