Take Next Year's Zoom Meetings Inside an AMC Theater

AMC Theaters has joined forces with Zoom Video Communications to transform several theaters into Zoom conference rooms. Under their partnership, the two entities plan to launch "Zoom Rooms" in 17 of AMC's leading U.S. markets in 2023.

Upon opening, users will be able to book three-hour blocks in a preferred theater at a designated meeting time through a soon-to-be-launched website. With auditoriums ranging from 75 to 150 seats, AMC and Zoom will prepare each theater with all the necessary equipment for large-scale corporate calls. Additionally, attendees can request food and beverage services, movie viewings and "concierge-style personalized handling of meeting needs" for an added cost.

“One of the lessons learned during the pandemic when so many of us were forced to work remotely was the importance of a reliable, dynamic communications platform,” AMC's CEO Adam Aron said in a statement. “We also learned that even though we may be spread far apart, the ability to come together in person is as important as ever."

"Through this partnership of Zoom and AMC, we have the best of both worlds," he added. "The spectacular communications platform of Zoom combined with the comfort, size, scale, and state-of-the-art sight and sound capabilities of AMC’s centrally located theatres. This creates an all-new product in major cities across the U.S. for companies and meeting planners.”

AMC and Zoom did not disclose pricing information or an expected opening date for Zoom Room reservations.
