New Met Gala Documentary Reveals the Price of Having Rihanna Attend Your Party

If you liked 2009′s Vogue documentary The September Issue, there’s a pretty great chance you’re going to love The First Monday in May — a film about the inner workings of the annual Met Gala. Or, as Andre Leon Talley dubs it, fashion’s Super Bowl.

From the choice of the museum exhibit’s theme (China: Through the Looking Glass, in this case) to the hefty price of having Rihanna attend your party in a giant omelette gown to the insane stress levels that come with organizing the biggest party of the year, it looks like Monday will cover all the Met Gala bases.

There’s also a clip of Anna Wintour badmouthing a male celeb who seems permanently attached to his cell phone. But who is it?! We’ll just have to wait and see the movie after it premieres at the Tribeca Film Festival on April 13 to find out.
