During my time at Apartment Therapy, I’ve learned a lot about bedding. If you had asked me two years ago what the difference between sateen and cotton percale was, I wouldn’t have been able to tell you. Now, the problem with all of this knowledge is that I have become incredibly particular about what’s on my bed, especially when it comes to sheets and pillows. As a hot sleeper, I’ve even become critical of what I wear to bed. After waking up drenched with sweat in December, I disposed of some flannel pajamas my parents had given me and have been on the hunt for high-quality, breathable pajamas ever since.

When I heard that The Company Store, one of my favorite bedding brands, was partnering up with Rifle Paper Co., whose stylish planners and notebooks feature hand-painted designs that I use every day, to create a new line of bedding and loungewear, I knew I had to give it a shot. It’s been a trend the last few years for bedding brands to launch loungewear, and hey, who knows more about sleep and comfort than a company that sells bedding? You can read more about the collaboration here.

What Is The Company Store x Rifle Paper Co. Collaboration?

The Company Store, which sells sheets, comforters, blankets, pillows, and even bath linens, partnered with Rifle Paper Co., a company that is known for whimsical floral designs and sells everything from planners to rugs, to create a new line of bedding and loungewear. They released the first round (which I tested) in January, and they just dropped another spring-inspired floral collection today. I tested out the above Poplin Women’s Short Set and Nightshirt, both in Peacock. The Poplin pajamas are all made out of 100% lightweight cotton poplin, while the brand new pajamas that launched today are made out of 91% TENCEL modal and 9% spandex. Both types of pajamas are marketed as being breathable, though the latter goes a step further and is moisture-wicking.

Why I Love The Company Store x Rifle Paper Co. Poplin Women’s Short Set

After testing products for four years, I’m immediately skeptical of any new item that comes into my home, especially pajamas, but I’ve been won over by this shorts set. I’ve had satin, tencel, and flannel pajamas before and have always woken up a little sweaty and uncomfortable. The Company Store x Rifle Paper Co. pajama set kept me cool, though, even as I battled a cold a few weeks ago. The shirt and shorts were unrestrictive, comfy, and crisp. It felt like I was walking around my apartment and lying down in a set of sheets that had been cut into pajamas. I didn’t wake up sweaty once. Plus, these are so stylish that I felt like I had my life together, despite spending most of my time on the couch begging for my nose to stop running. I feel good in these pajamas and sleep better. Although I tried out both the shorts set and nightshirt, I preferred the shorts set, just because it stayed in place while I was sleeping. It’s helped make my bedroom feel more like a luxury hotel, which is the vibe I am aspiring to this year. Now, I just need new slippers and I’ll be all set.
