When I moved to Los Angeles in 2021, one of my prerogatives was to become a functional cannabis user. I was convinced it would help with the aches and pains that come along with my autoimmune disease (which it does, in addition to significantly alleviating my anxiety and depression — bonus!). I also have never enjoyed alcohol, and my birthday is the day before 4/20.

My marijuana journey happened to coincide with the increased fashion-ification of cannabis, with Edie Parker emerging as a leader in elevated smoking paraphernalia. One of the brand's biggest hits has been its Burn Bag, a compact accessory equipped with a lighter case. I foamed at the mouth over its ingenuity and potential to put an end to my vanishing lighters (plus, how cute is this new tweed version made with St. John?) — but, realistically, I knew the small size wouldn't suit my bag-lady needs.

Well, just in time for 4/20 2024, Edie Parker reintroduced the hit style in a larger tote silhouette, and I've fallen head over heels for it. The structured Burn Tote is made of croc-embossed vegan leather with elongated double-top handles, which I especially appreciate. It's available in both a cognac red and a butter yellow. The roomy interior can fit all my necessities: wallet, cosmetics pouch, smartphone — all with a 17-oz. water bottle laying comfortably at the bottom.

Then, of course, there's the retractable lighter case, with super-strong magnets so that it snaps back into its designated place no matter what. But it's the little details, like the zipper pull being a solid silver micro lighter, that really make this bag a new forever piece for me. That, and the fact that it's a conversation starter — and a party trick that will never get old.
