Yes, you can buy a smart bird feeder at Amazon — capture feathered friends on camera!

There's just something about watching birds that brings a sense of peace. Now, you can get that all the time, even if your bird feeder's nowhere in sight. The Netvue Birdfy Lite is a "smart" bird feeder with a camera. When a winged visitor stops by, it triggers a motion alert on your phone — and sends a picture! You'll even know the exact time the bird landed. This would make a great Mother's Day gift.

With a motion sensor and built-in camera, you'll be tuned in to every tweet.

The Netvue Birdfy Lite has a lot going for it. Not only does it capture photos at 1080p resolution, but it also has full color night vision. If you get a visit from a night bird, you'll still be able to see every detail of its feathers and pattern. It even has 8x zoom functionality, so you can take a closer look at the birds.

Now wait a minute, you might say — this is connected through Wi-Fi. Will it even work in the yard? Absolutely! It comes equipped with a 5dBi antenna. Without going into too much technical detail, this means it can pick up your Wi-Fi from a reasonable distance away. It runs on a 2.4GHz band, so make sure your router supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

The Birdfy Lite is IP65 rated, which means it can keep going strong, rain or shine. Or dust storm, actually. It shouldn't be damaged by most weather conditions unless it's completely submerged. Now, on to the birdy aspects...

The feeder itself has a 1.5L capacity, so you don't have to worry about it running dry. You'll have plenty of notice before the birds get hungry enough to revolt, and the design of the feeder greatly reduces the risk of mold forming.

One of the coolest features is the Birdfy AI. When you first buy the Birdfy Lite, you'll get seven days of this feature free. It uses AI to identify the type of bird that comes to have a snack at your feeder. After the free trial, this function is just $5 per month.

Sounds great, right? It gets even better. You can buy optional extensions, like a solar panel that keeps the camera charged all the time, or a "hummee perch" to bring in hummingbirds. There's even a "Pro Perch" attachment that has feeders for a wide range of birds, including hummingbirds, suet balls, jelly feeders, and more.

Reviewers of the Birdfy rave about the image quality. "This product is truly a game changer for bird watchers. The videos and pictures are incredible, and it makes it so fun to see who visits your bird feeder," said a bird watcher who has two of the Netvue Birdfy feeders set up in her yard.

"An incredible way to see who visits your feeder," wrote another verified shopper who left a five-star review. "This feeder has a motion-activated camera that records the birds. You can go through and watch the videos and take screenshots of these precious creatures. The pictures are super clear so you can really see the details of the birds. (And squirrels!) I had no idea I had so many different types of birds in my yard. This is the best thing ever."

If you're struggling to find the perfect Mother's Day gift, this feeder is a great choice. And if you're an amateur ornithologist, you should definitely consider picking up one of these for yourself.
