*Spoilers for Netflix's Missing: Dead or Alive? ahead*

Netflix is back with another true crime effort. On May 10, the streamer released the new series Missing: Dead or Alive? If you're a fan of true crime, then you probably know all about the six-episode series. If you're unfamiliar, Missing follows police investigators in South Carolina as they work to solve the missing person cases of Lorraine Garcia, Amirah Watson, David Taylor, and Sierra Stevens. The mysterious disappearances were so shocking that many viewers were left wondering if Missing: Dead or Alive was real or fake. The six-episode series is based on true missing persons investigations that occurred between 2020 and 2021. Read ahead for everything we know about the four cases and how they were solved.

Was Lorraine Garcia found dead or alive?

Missing: Dead or Alive? began with the disappearance of Lorraine Garcia. In 2021, Lorraine's ex-daughter-in-law filed a missing person's report after losing contact with the 61-year-old. As the investigation progressed, Lorraine's son Anthony became a major suspect in her disappearance. A war veteran, who was diagnosed with PTSD, Anthony was suspected of foul play after illegally attempting to sell his mother's house.

Investigators were informed that Lorraine had recently come forward with concerns about mistreatment from her son. According to one neighbor, Lorraine claimed that Anthony locked her away in her bedroom and took away her phone and bank card. When investigators searched Lorraine's house, they found that it smelled like bleach and later discovered an air mattress that appeared to have blood on it. Despite the suspicious findings, investigators managed to locate Lorraine, who confirmed that she willingly left her home and refused to contact anyone in her family. She did not disclose her current location.

Where is Amirah Watson now?

As the missing person's investigators wrapped up Lorraine Garcia's investigation, they were alerted that 10-year-old Amirah Watson was abducted by her mother. The child's father Mansoor Watson, reported her missing after her mother, Tynesha Brooks, refused to return her after their court-ordered visitation had ended.

The investigators talked with Brooks' friends and family members, who admitted to having spoken to Tynesha after the missing person's report was filed but refused to disclose where she was. After six weeks, U.S. Marshalls located Amirah at a family home in Georgia. She was later reunited with her father, and her mother was arrested.

What happened to David Taylor?

Days after David Taylor won a $10,000 prize in the lottery, David Taylor's truck was found on the side of a highway. David's family expressed concerns that there may have been foul play involved because he was on the way to cash in his lottery ticket to receive his winnings. Sadly, missing person officials discovered Taylor's dead body in a wooded area nearby where his car was found. The autopsy report found that he may have died from hypothermia, with a fatal dose of methamphetamine in his system.

Was Sierra Stevens really missing?

The last episode of Missing: Dead or Alive? follows the story of Sierra Stevens, who went missing in September 2021. Her foster family contacted the police after she failed to return home after spending the night at her friends' house after they snuck out to a party without telling her foster parents. Investigators were on high alert because Sierra had disappeared from an area where sex trafficking cases had previously occurred. Thankfully, Sierra was never truly missing. She explained that she decided against going home after seeing the police at her house once her parents had filed a missing person case.
