Netflix's Your Place Or Mine viewers share criticism of new rom com

ICYMI, Netflix's latest rom-com offering just dropped, and to mixed reviews. Your Place or Mine, which landed on the streaming platform on 10th February, stars Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher and follows the actors playing two best friends living in different cities. But after swapping houses for a week, they learn that they're actually in love with each other.

While the plot *screams* classic romantic comedy, fans couldn't get on board with one major thing, despite many generally enjoying the film - that they thought the two leads lacked chemistry.

Taking to Twitter to share this view, one fan wrote: "Your Place or Mine (2023). A classic friends to lovers trope, but as 40-somethings. Love the premise. Overall easy to watch but there's just zero chemistry between Reese & Ashton. It helps that their plot develops individually cos their scenes together feel odd."

This opinion was backed up by another viewer, who suggested a reason for the chemistry absence. "No wonder why the main leads of Your Place or Mine had no chemistry, they barely interacted in the movie," they said.

A further fan reacted in a similar way, typing: "There is zero chemistry between Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher in Your Place Or Mine. Please skip," as someone else referred to those press photos for the film, which have been circulating online recently.

"Btw Your Place or Mine isn't half bad! But those red carpet photos are, ahem, accurate," they typed.

"As a couple they have no chemistry. Doesn't hurt the movie tho because they don't share a single frame until the last couple minutes when he makes his big declaration of love."

But whether you enjoyed the film or not, there's no denying that both are incredible actors in their own right.

Your Place or Mine is now streaming on Netflixi.
