NFL Films has partnered with Netflix to create a new docuseries, titled Quarterback, which centers on three QBs — the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, the Minnesota Vikings' Kirk Cousins and the Atlanta Falcons' Marcus Mariota — throughout their 2022 season.

Peyton Manning's Omaha Productions and Mahomes' freshly-founded 2PM Productions will produce the series, in partnership with NFL Films. Notably, the docuseries marks the first collaboration between Netflix and the NFL.

“I’m excited for fans to get an exclusive, behind-the-scenes look at an unforgettable season for the entire Chiefs organization and for my family,” Mahomes said in a statement. “From welcoming home a new baby in the middle of the season to welcoming the Lombardi trophy back to Kansas City, our crew was there for it all. This new Netflix series will show the time, preparation and balance that it takes to be an NFL quarterback and perform on the biggest stage.”

Mahomes had a monumental season, winning his second regular-season MVP title and spearheading the Chiefs' second Super Bowl win in four years. Meanwhile, Cousins led the Vikings to win the NFC North division, though the team lost the first playoff game. And Mariota played 13 games for the Falcons, before battling a knee injury on the bench in the latter half of the season.

“We aim to give our members unprecedented access to the biggest athletes in the world, telling stories that you can’t see anywhere else,” said Brandon Riegg, VP of Unscripted and Documentary Series at Netflix. “It doesn’t get any bigger than going inside the huddle with NFL quarterbacks, who hold perhaps the most important and difficult position in sports. We can’t wait to share their stories with our members around the world.”

Quarterback will premiere on Netflix this summer.
