Netflix’s ‘The Circle’ Is Releasing New Season 2 Episodes On Wednesdays
  • Netflix just released four new episodes of its hit reality TV show The Circle to kick off season two.

  • The new season will release new episodes on Wednesdays, with the finale set to stream on May 5.

  • This time, there will be eight contestants, plus a few famous faces in the chat.

Circle, message: "Get excited, folks, because everyone's favorite reality-show-slash-popularity-contest is officially back for season two!" Send message.

Yep, you read that right. Netflix brought back The Circle for another round of emojis, catfishes, and poorly-attended pushup competitions. (Sorry, Shubham!) And, even better: The streaming service dropped the first four episodes on April 14, so you can get to know all the new contestants RN.

ICYMI, people collectively freaked last year when Netflix debuted the first season where real-life contestants created virtual personalities and duked it out on a social media platform to try to become buddies with fellow cast members and avoid getting kicked out of "The Circle" (hence the show's name). All of this went down while each contestant was filmed in individual apartments—and it was full of drama.

Here’s everything you need to know about the new season:

When do new episodes of The Circle season two come out?

ALERT! Four already did. The first four episodes of The Circle dropped on April 14. More will be released on subsequent Wednesdays. Episodes five through eight come out on April 21, episodes nine through 12 on April 28, and the finale premieres on May 5.

In the meantime, you can dissect every comment from all the season two contestants. Take it from host Michelle Buteau, "It's more strategic than ever."

How does The Circle work, again?

The show brings together a wide range of contestants who live together in one building but in separate apartments. Their only way of communicating with anyone is through a voice-activated social media platform called "The Circle," which they use to connect with each other through text messages, group chats, and photos.

That said, each contestant can be whoever they want to be in "The Circle." Not everyone uses their own photos (as fans witnessed in season one), and they can even create an entirely different persona.

What will happen on season two of The Circle?

Netflix swears it will be "bigger and better, with more twists, turns, and shade thrown in all 13 episodes!" There’s a whole new cast of eight contestants, who will flirt, make allies, fight, and compete to try to be named the top influencer and earn $100,000.

You don't have to watch the trailer more than once to see a few familiar faces. Yep, that is *NSYNC's Lance Bass and Too Hot To Handle's Chloe Veitch. Tbd how their time in The Circle plays out...

There are also more catfish swimming around in season two, and a bonafide influencer named Savannah Palacio competing in the popularity contest.

What happened on season one of The Circle?

Last season, bartender Joey Sasso won the whole shebang, beating out Shubham Goel, Sammie Cimarelli, Chris Sapphire, and Seaburn Williams for the top spot. A few contestants—including Seaburn—pretended to be someone they’re not, which was super interesting to watch.

When was The Circle season two filmed?

Thanks to a format that just happens to suit a global pandemic perfectly, the show filmed in fall 2020.

"We’re creating a huge fortress, a sort of sealed environment where we’ll be able to control who comes in," The Circle creator Stephen Lambert said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in May. "Obviously, the subjects are already isolated, so it suits what’s going on, but we’ll have contestants tested beforehand, and we’re discussing having them quarantined after they arrive in England."

FYI: Netflix is also bringing back Too Hot To Handle for season two in June.

How many episodes are there of The Circle season two?

There will be 13 total, according to Netflix.

Who wins The Circle season two?

As of right now, there are no spoilers for season two. You'll have to be patient and watch to find out. (Paging Reality Steve!)
