Netflix Viewers Can Now watch a Baby Gorilla Livestream From the Cleveland Zoo

Get your popcorn popping because beginning Sept. 7, Netflix will feature a weekly two-hour livestream of the gorilla troop in their habitat at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo. The livestream will include an adult male named Mokolo, four adult females (Kebi Moyo, Fredrika, Nneka, and Tusa) the two baby gorillas, Kayembe and a little girl gorilla that viewers can vote to name on September 10 at 10 am EST.

The little female gorilla is the second baby born at the zoo in its 141 years.

“We can’t wait for people from all around the world to get to know our dynamic gorilla troop and elevate the work that’s being done to save this critically endangered species,” Cleveland Metroparks Zoo executive director Dr. Chris Kuhar told Netflix. “In addition, this opportunity is a celebration of our newest member of the troop, and we look forward to seeing what name viewers choose.”

If you are interested in voting for the baby's name, you can do so on the Cleveland Zoo Instagram page. The choices are Kunda which means 'Love', Komera which means 'Strong' and Isukari which means 'Sweet.' All of these names seem fitting for this sweet baby gorilla!

Instagram users are so excited for this and @Dunlap comments, "I can’t even wait." @Jessica adds, "Oh my family is going to love this!"

Gorillas are an endangered species, and are facing significant threats to their populations due to habitat loss, poaching, and other human activities.
