Netflix’s Rocko’s Modern Life movie is coming soon, and we're ready for an even more modern O-Town

Get ready to be thrown back into the world of O-Town when "Rocko's Modern Life: Static Cling" hits Netflix later this summer. The nostalgia is about to hit hard.

The ’90s nostalgia craze is not yet over. On Tuesday, July 16th, Netflix officially announced a premiere date for its upcoming reboot special of Nickelodeon’s Rocko’s Modern Life. Come August 9th, fans of the bizarre-yet-lovable ’90s animated show will be able to stream Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling, a totally original movie that introduces the characters, who made their last appearance on TV in 1996, to the 21st century in a self-aware way.

So get ready, because there’s a brand-new Rocko’s Modern Life: Static Cling teaser, released by Netflix on June 16th.

Rocko seemingly has to grapple with 21-century modernity and being proclaimed a hero of O-Town. Our poor little wallaby friend can’t seem to catch a break, can he?

In July 2017, Nickelodeon’s YouTube channel teased the upcoming animated film in a sneak-peak video, which currently has over 2.3 million views.

Rocko, a shy Australian wallaby, doesn’t seem to be taking the transition into his even more modern life particularly well, whereas Heffer and Filburt are literally eating up all the new tech, food, and totally 21st-century experiences.

After being put on the back-burner for all of 2018, we’re thrilled that the Rocko’s Modern Life movie is finally coming to fruition. It’s going to be a blast from the past (with a modern twist) and we can’t wait to jump back into the weird world of O-Town with all its strange places like Holl-o-Wood, Chokey Chicken, and Conglom-O Corporation.

Leave it to Rocko’s to toe the line of adult satire and kids’ comedy. Tune into Netflix on August 9th to soak in all the nostalgia.
