Netflix has officially released the first look at a four-part docuseries titled McGregor Forever, following the journey of Conor McGregor as he looks to chart his journey back to the top of the UFC ladder after a brutal leg break.

Love him or hate him, McGregor is "the real money fight," headlining five out of six of the top-selling pay-per-view events in UFC history and holding the record for the most consecutive post-fight bonuses. With the highs, however, often came the lows. After becoming the first double champ in UFC history, a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov had McGregor taking a 2-year hiatus to recalibrate. After taking a tune-up fight with veteran Donald Cerrone and losing to Dustin Poirier in a rematch, the last time the Irishman was seen in the octagon was in the summer of 2021 when his trilogy bout with Poirier ended in a crushing leg injury which many feared would mark the end of his career.

“I thought it was over as well,” McGregor is heard saying in the trailer. “That’s why I flipped into a different mode. It was the adrenaline as well and I know I would have come down but part of me was thinking, Jesus, imagine if it was taken from me like that. I would be a different person and it was a bit scary, to be honest with you. But it’s McGregor forever. That’s it. It’s done. It’s McGregor forever and don’t you forget it."

The series is described as an all-access look at the controversial superstar with a deeper dive into the history of what brought him to this point. Each episode will be one hour long and will follow the aftermath of McGregor's leg injury and his rehabilitation process as he "embarks on the most important point of his career."

“Conor is unlike anyone I’ve ever collaborated with,” director Gotham Chopra says in a press release. “As one of his trainers described him, he’s an entirely unreasonable man and for that reason, he’s impossible not to watch and be fascinated by. Don’t look away, because I guarantee you, you will definitely miss something inexplicably wild.”

McGregor Forever premieres exclusively on Netflix next month on May 17.
