Netflix One Piece Arlong blooper

The One Piece anime is great, as is the manga it’s adapted from, but you know what you can’t get in either of those formats? Bloopers. Thankfully, Netflix came along and turned the greatest story on earth into a live-action series, and now the streaming giant has shared some incredible bloopers from the series.

Netflix shared a new video on Twitter and YouTube showing a host of bloopers from its live-action One Piece series. The video, which runs for about 2 minutes, shows all sorts of hilarious hijinx, like Steven John Ward’s Dracule Mihawk forgetting his lines at the start of a big speech, surprisingly staying in character the entire time.

Jeff Ward’s Buggy the Clown failing at juggling is a delightful sight, as is his incredible delivery to Luffy of the following line:

“You’re just a sad, lonely boy who always loses at FIFA.”

McKinley Belcher’s Arlong getting his sawtooth nose stuck in hair – his own and others – is very funny too, if only by virtue of seeing such a menacing character do something so silly. The whole thing is enough to put a smile on anyone’s face, so you should definitely give it a watch.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen a glimpse behind the curtain for the live-action series. Netflix’s One Piece behind the scenes video revealed more secrets behind the show when it was released earlier this year, and seeing how the One Piece cast trained for stunts was almost inspiring, too.

It helps, too, that the main cast for One Piece is so strong, with superstars like Iñaki Godoy as Luffy really selling the performance and bringing the characters to life. It’s part of what helped the live-action One Piece series get off to a great start, and one we hope to see continue with an expanded cast in season 2.

As for when that’ll be, it’s anyone’s guess. Tomorrow Studios CEO Marty Adelstein says season 2 of One Piece is already written, and the only thing holding it back was the SAG-AFTRA strike. Now that the actors’ strike has come to an end, it seems like it won’t be too long before the crew gets back into the swing of things.
