Netflix's Michael B. Jordan-produced coming of age superhero drama has officially been canceled after just two seasons.

The announcement was first revealed by series star Sammi Haney who shared the news on Instagram. She wrote, "Sad to say that Raising Dion is CANCELED. Thank you for all of the amazing support we got from all of our wonderful fans! Season 2 was a success, equal to Season 1, even if just looking at how many people watched all of it and wanted a season 3!" Later, Variety confirmed that the show has indeed ended before the arrival of its third season.

The show follows a young boy named Dion, in a coming-of-age story that sees him manifest his power into superhero-like abilities. The show first premiered on Netflix in 2019 for season one and season two arrived on the platform in February 2022. The second season sees Dion hone in his powers more with the support of his mother and his Biona trainer, Tevin. The series was based on the comic book by the same name, by Dennis Liu. The story was adapted by Carol Barbee and saw Jordan executive produce the series. Jordan appeared in the series a handful of times in a recurring supporting role.
