The new Netflix movie Let It Snow is giving everyone younger Love, Actually vibes

It seems like just as we nailed down our Halloween costume, this year’s new holiday movie trailers started dropping. And while one corner of Twitter is creating conspiracy theories about the potential plot twist in the upcoming Emilia Clarke-Henry Golding flick Last Christmas, another is getting pumped about the Netflix original movie Let It Snow. The trailer dropped yesterday, October 22nd, and we’re seeing some parallels with Love, Actually. (Which remains a holiday rom-com fave even though we just realized Colin Firth’s character is kind of unbearably pretentious.)

Let It Snow is an adaptation of the 2008 YA novel Let It Snow: Three Holiday Romances by John Green (of The Fault in Our Stars and Looking for Alaska fame), Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle. It stars a mix of our favorite celebs and newcomers: Kiernan Shipka, Isabela Merced, Shameik Moore, Odeya Rush, Liv Hewson, Mitchell Hope, Jacob Batalon, and Joan Cusack headline the cast.

Ensemble cast? Check. Festive atmosphere? Check. People with crushes on each other? Check. But how else are Let It Snow and Love, Actually birds of a (partridge) feather? Let’s take a look at Netflix’s official film description:

Unlike Love, Actually, Let It Snow will unfortunately not feature any British accents, and it will be full of teens. But with the promised hijinks, pop stars, and “colliding” romantic storylines, we can see some similarities. And on Twitter, fans are getting excited about the film’s impressive cast, cozy friendship goals, waffles, and generally festive vibe.

Let It Snow starts streaming on Netflix on November 8th, so you have about two weeks to read the bestselling book and rewatch Love, Actually about 11 times in preparation.
