Following a record-breaking first season, the South Korean survival drama series, Squid Game, has been renewed for Season 2. While fans wait for the show to return, director Hwang Dong-hyuk prepared a "small gift" in the form of an unreleased Season 1 clip for Netflix's annual Tudum global fan event. The 40-second short focuses on Front Man, the main antagonist behind the survival game who was previously revealed as the brother of police detective Hwang Jun-ho and the winner of the 28th Squid Game in 2015.

The exclusive clip shows the Front Man, played by Lee Byung-heon, walking back to his apartment with a bag of live goldfish. He empties the fish into a bowl and stares into it from above — symbolic of the way he oversees the cash-strapped players in Squid Game. The clip ends with a shot of a man staring into the Front Man's apartment, suggesting that someone is following the mastermind's tracks.

"I'd like to thank all the Netflix fans around the world again for loving Squid Game. Please look forward to season two, which will be filled with all-new stories," says director Hwang.

Take a look at the clip above and expect Squid Game Season 2 to release in 2024.
