Netflix has officially released the trailer for Tyler Perry's upcoming crime thriller starring Kelly Rowland and Trevante Rhodes. Perry wrote and directed the film, which is slated to land on the streamer next month.

The film follows the story of Rowland's character, a criminal defense attorney named Mea Harper who takes on the murder case against Zyair Malloy (Rhodes), an artist who is accused of killing his girlfriend. While she navigates the tumultuous findings of the case and tries to figure out her cagy and seductive client and argue his innocence, Mea soon realizes she has taken on more a world that is a lot more dangerous than she anticipated. The producers alongside Perry include, Dianne Ashford, Will Areu, Angi Bones and Rowland. San Sagar, Nick Sagar, RonReach Lee and Shannon Thornton will also star in the film.

This will mark Perry's fifth Netflix feature, following projects Six Triple Eight, A Fall from Grace, A Madea Homecoming, A Jazzman's Blues and Don't Look Up. Six Triple Eight has not yet been released but is a dram that tells the story of the first and only Women's Army Corps unit of color stationed oversees during WWII. Kerry Washington will lead the cast and serve as an executive producer. Early last year, Netflix announced it had signed Perry to a multi-year first-look deal.
