Neosho Class of 2024 paints the hill

NEOSHO, Mo. — A Neosho High School tradition continues with the Class of 2024.

On Friday they painted the hill; specifically, the section of Hill St. just behind the high school.

This is something that dates back to the 1970’s.

Dozens of seniors flexed their artistic muscles and painted things like inspirational sayings, fun designs, and, in one case, scenes from a movie.

“Like little flowers of all my little friends, and so we’re putting our handprints as a signature as this is us signing out. But it’s super cool to see everybody here,” said Lillian Brown, NHS senior.

“Painting a scene from nemo, where all the little fishes go onto a stingray as like a school bus. And so I am symbolized as squirt, my friend lily is symbolized as Dori and my friend Bethany is symbolized as nemo,” said Claire Burghart, NHS senior.

The school partnered with the city and Lowe’s for the supplies and to make sure the project was carried out safely.
