Neneh Cherry Proves There’s No Age Limit on Leopard Print

See how Neneh Cherry pulls off a difficult print performing at Art Basel, Miami.

Neneh Cherry’s sense of style came to define a certain late ’80s and early ’90s British sensibility—those chunky gold hoops, bronze bustiers, and versatile bomber jackets that she wore upon releasing her debut album Raw Like Sushi (1988) have indelibly shaped London’s sartorial legacy.

Now that Cherry released a new album a few months ago (Broken Politics), she’s back in the spotlight again, still wearing those very same hoops that she wore two decades ago. Last night, she performed at Soho House in Miami for an Art Basel party in a burnt orange, all-over leopard print Stella McCartney set that she could have rocked just as easily in her Raw Like Sushi days. Cherry finished off the youthful set with long, royal blue braids, and yes, her signature earrings. Cherry’s mastery of the tricky print proves, once and for all, that there’s no age limit on daring style.
