How to Get a Negative Space Cat Eye Like Lily Collins at the "InStyle" Awards

Just when I'd finally mastered the art of the perfect cat eye swoop, Lily Collins debuted a new twist on the classic style that I have to try: a negative space cat eye.

Lily hit the red carpet at the InStyle awards on Tuesday night showing off some heavily winged liner with a teeny, tiny stripe taken out of it. near the edges. To get the look Fiona Siles used Lancôme Grandiose Liner, which has the perfect fine felt tip for creating seamless lines. Then, get this: She used a cotton swab to clean up the edges, and swiped it through the liner to create the negative space, InStyle reports.

Lily finished her look with rose-colored blush, natural looking lip, and a super-sleek blowout that stylist Gregory Russell smoothed with Amika Glass Action Universal Elixir.

This isn't the first time Lily has blown our minds with her beauty looks. She just recently wore purple lipstick and touches of red as part of a Met Gala beauty routine inspired by the dark arts. Last year, she also debuted yet another twist on makeup when she showed up to Vanity Fair's 2017 Oscar party with another negative space cat eye. To achieve that look, Stiles outlined the dramatic wings the way one normally would, but didn't fill in the space between. It's easier than it looks — promise.
