Take a look in any beauty lover's makeup bag and you'll likely find somewhere crammed at the bottom a Nars Blush in Orgasm. A bold statement to make, for sure, but I think we can all agree that's a fair assumption because of how iconic the shade is.

A few months ago, I was in a rush to get myself dolled up for an event and manically digging through my cosmetic pouch for a cream blush. As I was poking around the bag, I happened upon an oldie, but goodie that I hadn't seen, or frankly used, in years. You guessed it: It was Nars's Orgasm blush.

I hesitated for a moment because of how ancient the compact probably was—I mean, I probably bought it in college!—but decided to give it a go since it still looked to be in near-pristine condition. Boy, am I happy I did. The shimmery, peachy-pink glow it imparted looked just as good as I remembered, and perhaps even better. To be frank, I was quite surprised because I, like many of you, have been on the cream and liquid blush bandwagon the last few years, but the powder truly delivered a just-as-dewy look without any caking.

Since then, I have continuously used it and come to the final conclusion that nothing holds a candle to this iconic powder formula. Honestly, I can't put my finger on it, but there's just something about this legendary little compact that keeps making me come back for me.

Maybe it's because the translucent shade delivers the perfect sweet-spot flush to cheeks? Or maybe it's because it looks universally flattering? Or maybe because it's buildable formula looks beyond on cheekbones no matter how much you apply? Call it a coincidence, heck, even call it sorcery—but this aptly- (and notoriously cheeky-) named blusher is the ultimate makeup hero.

I know I am not the only one who feels that way either. Meghan Markle has been known to love it; Emma Stone reportedly wore it on her wedding; and Jennifer Lawrence counts herself as a famous fan. And according to Harper's Bazaar UK, the best-selling blush is so popular that one sells every 20 seconds.

Since its launch nearly 25 years ago (it celebrates its anniversary in 2024), Nars has even dropped many iterations of the shade in the form of a lip gloss, lipstick, liquid blush, eye shadow, as well as a multi-purpose cream stick, which I am hardcore coveting. In the meantime, though, I am happily going to stick to using the powder formula for an on-point glam through 2024 and beyond.
