NE Ohio indoor waterpark ranked among best in the country
SANDUSKY, Ohio (WJW) – Although families tend to hit the beaches and outdoor pools during the summer, indoor waterparks can be a popular hotspot for families all year long.
Luckily for us, one of the best can be found right here in Northeast Ohio, according to a recent ranking.
For the second year in a row, USA Today named Kalahari Resorts the best indoor waterpark in the United States.
The African-themed waterpark has four locations in the country, including one in Sandusky. Other locations are in Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Texas, with a new location set to open in Virginia in 2026.

In the ranking, USA Today highlights what Kalahari has to offer, including “uphill water coasters, surfing simulators, waterslides, and a unique virtual reality waterslide.”
According to waterpark officials, in celebration of the award, Kalahari is offering a flash sale on overnight stays, day passes, season passes and cabana rentals through May 3. Learn more about the deals here.

Sandusky is no stranger to popular waterparks. A recent study by retailer SwimOutlet named Cedar Point Shores the best waterpark in the country.
