As NCIS fans mourn the loss of a fan favorite star, one prominent name just broke his silence to bid his own goodbye.

On September 25, fans of the procedural drama learned that David McCallum (who played Donald "Ducky" Mallard) died at the age of 90 from natural causes. Shortly after the announcement of his death, a number of his cast mates paid tribute to his legacy online, including Wilmer Valderrama.

Mark Harmon (who famously portrayed Leroy Jethro Gibbs) also gave a personal statement to honor his old friend.

"David lived a great, full, long life," Mark eulogized about David in a direct statement to TVLine. "I was in awe when I first met him and all of us on the show were honored to have toed a mark opposite him. My condolences go out to [David's wife] Katherine and his family."

As fans may know, both Mark and David stared on NCIS since the show's pilot in September 2003. While the former left four episodes into season 19, the latter continued portraying Ducky through the series' monumental season 20 finale, which he appeared in remotely. What's more, David was the final original cast member to be on the show.

While David's former co-stars are sharing their own stories of their time with The Man from U.N.C.L.E. actor, NCIS'official social team also made a statement over his passing on Instagram.

"We are deeply saddened by the passing of David McCallum and privileged that CBS was his home for so many years," read the caption alongside a photo of the Emmy Award nominee on September 25. "David was a gifted actor and author, and beloved by many around the world. He led an incredible life, and his legacy will forever live on through his family and the countless hours on film and television that will never go away."

"We will miss his warmth and endearing sense of humor that lit up any room or soundstage he stepped onto, as well as the brilliant stories he often shared from a life well-lived," the post concluded. "Our hearts go out to his wife Katherine and his entire family, and all those who knew and loved David."

Our hearts are with all of David's friends and family.
