From Country Living

  • NCIS: Los Angeles will not air on Sunday, February 9.

  • Instead, reruns of NCIS: NOLA and the original NCIS will play on CBS.

NCIS is all over the place this week.

The State of the Union address altered CBS’s schedule on Tuesday, and NCIS ended up airing a rerun while FBI and FBI: Most Wanted were cancelled altogether. We thought that would be the end of the weirdness but here we are, wrong again!

NCIS: Los Angeles will apparently not be on at all this week. Instead, the Sunday, February 9 block will include repeats of NCIS, FBI, and NCIS: New Orleans. At least we’re getting Gibbs (Mark Harmon) and Pride (Scott Bakula) but still. Any week without Deeks (Eric Christian Olsen) is a disappointment.

While it's unclear why CBS has made this change, it likely has to do with the Academy Awards, which will be on starting at 8 p.m. Sunday, February 9 on ABC. They probably don't want to waste a brand-new hour on the same night as one of the biggest celebrity events of the year.

Everything appears to go back to normal next week. NCIS: LA will return with the episode “Commitment Issues,” which follows the team as they investigate a murder at a spoken poetry event. Callen (Chris O’Donnell) also asks Nell (Renee Felice Smith) to help him track down his ex, Anna. Hmm, another try at romance in the spirit of Valentine’s Day?

NCIS: New Orleans also makes its debut in its Sunday time slot on February 16. Fans were furious about the long hiatus—though some of that was probably displaced anger about Lasalle’s death—especially considering that cliffhanger about Pride and the man in the red suit.

But “Bad Moon Rising” looks like it’s worth the wait. Apparently the team starts to worry about Sebastian (Rob Kerkovich) when he becomes unreachable on an undercover mission. He better be okay!

With a new guest star on NCIS: LA and a possible Lasalle replacement on NCIS: NOLA we know that CBS isn’t going to let us down with the rest of this season. Still, we wish we didn’t have to wait so long.
