With an ever-growing resume of hit shows like NCIS: Hawai'i, Love is Blind, and The Ultimatum, we'll be the first to admit that we have no idea how Vanessa Lachey does it. Country Living caught up with the actress to hear what she's got in store for fans, her unexpected skincare secret and how she keeps the flame between her and Nick.

Vanessa revealed that she's dealt with hives since a young age and for it not under control, it can interfere with her getting the job done on set. She shared that, "[she's] been brought to tears because there's nothing you can do about it until now that was working with [her] schedule of being a busy working mom."

So, it only makes sense that Vanessa's secret skincare weapon is something we weren't expecting. Everyone swears by their favorite moisturizer and don't get us wrong—the actress still loves a good hydrating product, but her go-to skincare product is actually Allegra Hives.

Now that she's in her early 40s, there IS one favor she wished she would have done for her younger self: sunscreen. "That's something I wish I did more, especially when I was pregnant. I was like belly out, oiled up and now I feel like my stomach is regretting that," said the Love is Blind host.

Vanessa swears that keeping things simple when it comes to skincare is the way to go. "In this day in age, there's all these massive skincare routines that are so expensive and probably young girls look at the other people on the internet and are like, 'I want that skin so i have to get that.'" With skin as flawless as hers, we'll happily take the advice. Even in the early 2000's when she was hosting TRL on MTV, she must've been doing something right. After all, that's where she met Nick Lachey!

Over a decade later and the two are still going strong. They've co-hosted two hit Netflix shows centered around love (with a new season of the Emmy-nominated Love is Blind on the way!). For the actress and former boy band member, filming helped them spark their relationship again. "For us it was good. It opened up all kinds of conversations," Vanessa admitted.

Seeing how she beamed when talking about her family and Nick, naturally, we were curious to know their secret to staying a happy couple. "I wish I knew and then I'd write a book and it'd make a kazillion dollars," the NCIS star joked. "For us, what's worked is communication." Even the smallest gestures go a long way, including when Nick encouraged her to post a truly emotional video when she had that "pinch me" moment that all her hard work was paying off.

Vanessa shared this emotional moment when she learned she got the first female lead for the NCIS franchise. She made it clear that between family, work, kids, and her relationship with her husband, she's grateful for it all. "I try not to take it for granted and I will say, putting my family first will always make me know that I'm always living in that moment because if all of this were to go away, I still have them and that's the goal right?"
