With the ongoing writers' and actors' strikes, many fan-favorite projects are up in the air. Well, Brian Dietzen gave a grim update about the status of NCIS season 21, which he hid in a sweet post detailing his summer vacation.

While on hiatus from filming the CBS drama, Brian partook in a getaway to Greece with his wife Kelly. The couple took in some major sights of the country, including the Parthenon and the cities of Santorini, Naxos and Athens. When he later posted highlights from the trip on Instagram, he also managed to sneak in a status report in regards to the show's filming schedule. What's more, he confirmed that he planned on participating in the Writer's Guild of America (WGA) writers' strike as he personally wrote two episodes of NCIS.

"Photo dump from Greece 🇬🇷!" Brian wrote on July 7. "It was an epic journey... it was the trip of a lifetime. Amazing food, and so much to see... Thank you to all of the new friends we met along the way. Can’t wait to get back there!"

"Now back to work … eventually?" he added. "Til then, I’ll be on the picket lines. Hope your summer is going great!"

When NCIS fans caught wind of Brian's support of the writers' strike, they immediately ran to support him in the comments.

"Thank you for sharing and, for walking the picket line with the WGA!" one person wrote on Instagram. "Can’t wait to see you back on NCIS, Brian! After the strike is over, will you be writing any more scripts?" another asked. "Can’t wait to see you back for more NCIS! 🚔🚨," a different follower remarked.

As some may know, Brian (who plays Dr. Jimmy Palmer on the longtime series) helped pen two episodes over the last two seasons. The first episode aired in season 19, while his sophomore episode premiered in season 20.

While it's still unclear when NCIS season 21 will officially start production, we appreciate the actor's update. But as we wait, we'll stay busy by rewatching the show on Paramount+ and looking forward to catching new episodes of our favorite TV show in the near future.
