Mean Girls said it best: Once you're an adult, Halloween is not about dressing up as anything truly scary. It's about looking cute and maybe proving that you get a pop culture reference niche enough to make you seem cool. But now, Natural Light, chug-able beer of your college days, wants to reward you not for dressing up like Barb from Stranger Things for the third year in a row, but for dressing like one of the fears you encounter in your everyday life.
Natty's Halloween Scaries contest seems to be centered around the fact that many of us who spent college drinking Natty through a funnel are now dealing with the fact that life sort of blows, and that there's actually a lot of normal stuff to be scared of, like student loan debt, acid reflux, and living with your parents forever.
To participate, you just need to dress up like one your biggest fears as an adult and post it on Instagram or Twitter with the #NattyScaries and #Contest. From there, a winner will be chosen based on creativity, originality, and relevance to the contest theme and awarded with $10,000. That would sure take away quite a few scary things about being an adult.
The beer brand offered a few suggestions like "Shackled By Student Loan Debt" and "Undying Laundry Basket" but there are like, a million things to be afraid of at all times. Use your head, get creative, and really tap into what scares you the most.
