National Prayer Day: How prayer can be incorporated into your daily life

BAKERSFIELD, Calif., (KGET) — In regard to National Prayer Day, Lead Pastor of Discovery Church, Jason Hanash, joined 17 News at Sunrise for a segment on how praying can mentally make a difference in everyday life.

May is mental health awareness month and Pastor Hanash exemplifies prayers’ power when it comes to mental health. Hanash quotes Dr. Caroline Leaf, neuropsychologist, 12 minutes of prayer a day will change the structure of your brain, which can be physically seen on a scan.

For those who do not know how to pray or who are not religious, but want to pray, Pastor Jason says it is simple. “It [praying] can be very simple as in talking to him as you would a friend,” Hanash said.
