National Day of Prayer Thursday at the courthouse

Apr. 30—Lawrence County will be celebrating National Day of Prayer at noon on Thursday on the steps of the Lawrence County Courthouse.

This year's theme is "Lift up the Word, Light up the world."

The event promotes the seven pillars of prayer focusing on government, military, media, business, education, church and family.

The local pastors that will be praying this year are Rex Howe, president of Tri-State Bible College, Jeff Williams, of C3 Freedom House, Sallie Schisler, of St. Paul's Lutheran, Isaac Glover, of New Jerusalem Christian Center, Wayne Morris, of the Catholic Church, Carson Hunt, of First Presbyterian and Kim Gabbard, of Westwood Wesleyan.

Adyson Copley will be leading the crowd in song with "God Bless America."

Lawrence County Clerk of Courts Mike Patterson will again be grilling hot dogs for our lunch being served after the ceremony.

The community is encouraged to join in the ceremony and seating will be provided.
