The actor shared the clip in honor of his 52nd birthday.

Nathan Fillion, the star of hit shows like Castle and The Rookie, celebrated his 52nd birthday on March 27 with a PDA-filled throwback video with a Castle co-star from years ago.

The clip shows actor Seamus Dever, who played the character Kevin Ryan in the ABC crime drama, smiling at the camera and saying nothing, before Fillion slowly moves into the frame and kisses Dever on the cheek.

Fillion added a meaningful message to the hilarious video, writing, "As I grow older, I notice time moves differently. Much faster than it did when I was a lad. It reminds me to appreciate what is really important, to live in the moment when times are good, and to change the moment when they aren’t."

He went on, "On my birthday, I like to evaluate and take inventory. To that end, I’ve never been happier. Thank you, all of you, for your birthday wishes, but perhaps we should donate them to the less fortunate? All my wishes have already come true."

Regarding the video itself, Fillion added, "And thank you, Seamus, for this video. It made me laugh out loud. A true gift."

Dever commented on the Instagram post, "Who’s idea was this? I can’t remember. Happiest of birthdays, ol buddy."

Zachary Levi replied, "Happy happy, Filly!!! 🥳🙌," while actress Alexis Knapp wrote, "Happy birthday Nathan you are wonderful!!! 🔥."

Many fans also stopped by to wish the star a happy birthday, with quite a few noting that they were watching Castle at that moment, showing just how loved the show is even years after it stopped airing.

Fillion's current series, The Rookie, began in 2018 and has been extremely successful, even spawning a spin-off called The Rookie: Feds starring Niecy Nash. The first season of the spin-off is currently airing, though there's no word yet on if it will be renewed.
