Nashville ranks in nation’s top 10 for Memorial Day fishing

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — An international fishing website is naming Music City as one of the best spots to fish in the country this holiday weekend.

FishingBooker.com recently released it’s annual list naming the “Best Memorial Day Fishing Destinations for 2024.”

The top 10 destinations ranged from epicenters known for attracting anglers to more quiet corners in the country.

Nashville ranked third on the list and was praised for being one of the few metropolitan areas that can brag about having major fisheries in an urban area.

The site specifically highlighted the availability of striped bass on the Cumberland River, which produces “monster-sized” stripers.

Meanwhile, those looking for catfish should head to Percy Priest Lake. According to FishingBooker.com, Memorial Day weekend marks the beginning of catfish angling action, which typically lasts until mid-June.
