NASCAR star Jimmie Johnson is facing a devastating family tragedy back home.

The racecar driver's parents-in-law and nephew were found dead yesterday, June 26, after a shooting at their Oklahoma home and, according to Entertainment Tonight, authorities are investigating it as a murder-suicide.

The publication reviewed a press release from the Muskogee Police Department, which revealed that officials received a 911 call at approximately 9:05 p.m. last night. An unidentified female told the dispatcher that there was a disturbance involving a gun before hanging up.

Upon their arrival, police found a body in the hallway just inside the front door. Shortly after, they heard a gunshot from elsewhere in the home, and they later discovered two more deceased individuals.

Jack and Terry Janway and their 11-year-old grandson, Dalton, were all killed during the incident. At this time, it's unclear who was found where, but police told TMZ that Terry, 68, is currently considered the suspect. As of now, it's unclear what her motive may have been, if so. It's also unclear if she was the 911 caller.

Lynn Hamlin, PIO of the Muskogee Police Department, confirmed the above to ET, noting, "Yes, I'm able to confirm that is correct information."

Jack, 69, and Terry were the parents of Johnson's wife, Chandra Janway. Dalton was Chandra's nephew.

In light of the tragic loss, Johnson will not be racing this weekend in the NASCAR Cup Series event in Chicago. "The Johnson family has asked for privacy at this time and no further statements will be made," Legacy Motor Club wrote on Twitter when they announced that the No. 84 Carvana Chevrolet had been withdrawn from the event.
