NASA is Launching a Streaming Service

NASA is taking a giant leap into the streaming space. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration announced on July 27 that it will be launching its first on-demand streaming service called NASA+.

“We’re putting space on demand and at your fingertips with NASA’s new streaming platform,” Marc Etkind, associate administrator for communications at NASA, said in a press release. “Transforming our digital presence will help us better tell the stories of how NASA explores the unknown in air and space, inspires through discovery, and innovates for the benefit of humanity.”

The agency has teased that users can expect more space, rockets, science, missions and, of course, more NASA on its streaming service. From the cost to its scheduled liftoff, here is everything to know about NASA's streaming service, NASA+.

When will NASA's streaming service launch?

Liftoff is scheduled for 2023. Exact date TBD.

NASA+ will be available via the NASA App on most major platforms, as well as on the web.

What content will be available on NASA's streaming service?

There will be plenty to explore on NASA+. According to NASA, the streaming service will give individuals access to the space agency’s "Emmy Award-winning live coverage and views into NASA’s missions through collections of original video series, including a handful of new series launching with the streaming service."
