Naomi Campbell Delivers Black Girl Magic in Calvin Klein
It doesn’t take much for Naomi Campbell to look great, but when the supermodel wants to, she can really shut down the red carpet. While in New Jersey this weekend to accept the Black Girl Magic award at the annual Black Girls Rock celebrations, Campbell greeted cameras in a stunning number from Calvin Klein by Appointment. Given that the award paid tribute to both her accomplishments on the runway and her years of humanitarian work, the evening required a look that struck the right balance between fashion-forward and regal. And with its juicy shade of orange, plunging neckline, and head-to-toe pleats, the Raf Simons creation highlighted Campbell’s assets while remaining understated.
Calvin Klein has become Campbell’s fresh new go-to for special events. Though the supermodel is readily associated with favorites like Azzedine Alaïa and Versace, she made a splash in Simons’s design at the 2018 CFDA Awards, where she took home the Fashion Icon Award. Her appearance at Black Girls Rock marks the second instance where she’s chosen the label for a personal milestone, and with awards season on the horizon, odds are there’s plenty of Calvin Klein in her future.
