Nancy Reagan’s Most Memorable Beauty Looks

Former first lady Nancy Reagan has died at age 94. The former actress met her future husband Ronald Reagan, then president of the Screen Actors Guild, when seeking his help in clearing her name after it mistakenly appeared on a list of Communist sympathizers in Hollywood.

She appeared onscreen with the former president in the film Hellcats of the Navy (1957) and would become a huge influence on her husband’s life. She was quoted as saying she made “no apologies for telling Ronnie what I thought.”

As a former actress, Nancy Reagan understood the power of presentation. She was known for her signature color — red — and for her classic hair and makeup. She had one of the closets in the White House turned into a makeup room, and had at her disposal a renowned team of hair and makeup artists, including Way Brady (famous for his work with Elizabeth Taylor).
